Forensic Appraiser

« Back to Glossary Index

A forensic appraiser is a specialized expert hired to provide a detailed, scientifically-backed valuation of complex property damage. They are often used in high-value fire or water claims to determine the origin of a loss and the exact cost of restoration. Unlike a standard adjuster, a forensic appraiser utilizes thermal imaging, chemical analysis, and structural engineering data to create a “bulletproof” report that is difficult for an insurance carrier to dispute.
